I am an Integrative and Functional Medicine practitioner, whose primary goal is to help YOU get well and get your life back if you are chronically ill. Anyone who has been chronically ill, knows exactly what I mean when I say, ‘get your life back’. I have walked my own, very intense road with autoimmunity and chronic health conditions, as has my mom. Thus, I understand the financial burden, heartache, mental and emotional stress these conditions cause for entire families.

Nature me new, and its sister NGO Hope Moves, was born out of my own personal struggle with health and eventual success in healing. My own healing was a product of learning, listening to my body, and now living my best life.
The first important thing to state is that I am not a normal medical Dr and do not claim to be. I started out figuring out how to heal my own autoimmune disease and chronic conditions and have added studies to my name to help back up the knowledge I already had.
Having studied through the Institute of Integrative Medicine (Pretoria South Africa), The Nutrigenomics Institute (Spain), Apollo Health in the USA and DNAlysis Biotechnology a division of Nordic Labs (Denmark), I am a certified DNAlysis Practitioner, Certified Re:Code 2.0 practitioner, Integrative Medicine Practitioner, and am continuing my studies continuously to stay on top of the latest medical research.

I am also an international Maka Health Practtioner, helping patients all over the globe get their health back. You can see my profile here: https://www.makahealth.com/candice-castle

I always feel the need to explain the difference between myself and a conventional Dr, for those who are unsure… A medical Dr studies for at least 7 years and focuses on their own speciality, if they do not choose to be a general practitioner. These types of Drs can save your life in an emergency, for example a heart attack or diabetic coma. They can perform surgery if that was their chosen modality, and thus, save your life through surgery too. Medical Drs are extremely important and I will never advocate that you go against any medical advice your Dr has already given you. Unfortunately, when it comes to chronic conditions, like Autoimmunity, Cancer, Diabetes, Alzheimer’s Disease, Obesity, Depression, Fatigue and High blood pressure (to name a few), there is very little that a conventional MD is trained to do, other than offer symptomatic relief for these conditions. They have to tell you by law that there is no cure for a condition and all that they can offer is medication for symptomatic relief or minor extension of life.
This is where an Integrative and Functional Medicine Practitioner comes in… We are not trained in the same way as an MD and therefore may not use the Dr title in front of our names. The main difference between our approach is that we focus primarily on the way the body functions on a biological and molecular level. We look for the root cause of the problem and attempt to assist our patients in ‘pulling’ that root out. We are less concerned with symptomatic relief of chronic conditions and instead want to know the reasons behind the symptoms. Many MD’s go on to train in functional and integrative medicine too, often after they have seen that their original approach to chronic conditions did not yield the results that they had hoped it would. As a functional practitioner I do work with all medical Drs who are open to this.

A Functional and Integrative Practitioner is trained to look at genetics and your body’s own individual differences that may be contributing to a particular disease state. We look at all the biomolecular pathways in your body that may be out of balance, including but not limited to, hormones, your gut microbiome, your liver and kidneys, and the way in which your adrenal glands are functioning. We look at the body as a whole system functioning to keep you well and alive and address each part that is not working as well as it should. We also may not claim to cure, however we don’t try to treat symptoms but rather aim to remove or assist the body in removing the cause of the disease state thus, resulting in improved symptoms, improved quality of life and often a stabilisation, improvement or complete regression of the laboratory markers that led to your original diagnosis. I do not aim to cure, but rather to help you heal, your body, your mind and your future.
Now… How can I help you?
